Why gold purity matters more here
Studs sit against skin, often for weeks or months without being removed. Higher-purity gold (18ct and above) tends to be better tolerated by sensitive skin than lower-purity alloys, since there's less of the other metals in the mix that can occasionally cause irritation. Our studs are typically offered in 18ct gold for durability with a secure screw-back fitting.
Nose stud or ear stud — or both?
